Moore Jackson Community Garden's Composting Committee will be collecting food scraps throughout the year. During colder months, the bins you see here will be outside our fence by our Little Free Pantry on 51st Street between 31/32 Aves. Please only drop off scraps on Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 12 noon.
The graphic on the left gives you a list of what you can compost and what to avoid.
We're always looking for new Composting Committee members. Sign up to volunteer.
Become a Volunteer. There wouldn't be a garden space without our volunteers so if you'd like to roll up your sleeves and help us out either on site or from home (fundraising or marketing), reach out!
Whether you're interested in volunteering for the day or want to make it a regular thing, we don't have a sign-up. You just SHOW UP!
Every Saturday morning between late April to late October from 9:00–1:00, we are open and doing something you can jump in on. Just walk in from either side (54th Street or 51st Street between 31 and 32 Avenues) and say that you are a NEW VOLUNTEER and you'll get introduced to some folks, get some gardening gloves, and dive right in.
Check out our Volunteer page to see what some of the tasks are.
